Steve & Cheryl’s Modern Farmhouse Kitchen in North Huntingdon, PA
As the holiday season drew near, Steve and Cheryl envisioned a warm and inviting modern farmhouse kitchen where family and friends could gather. Their North Huntingdon home, built in the 1940s, was filled with charm but lacked a functional kitchen layout. Caruso Cabinet stepped in to double the kitchen’s footprint while preserving the home’s original character.
We installed a structural beam to expand into the dining area, creating space for a large island with seating for four, a microwave drawer, an oven, and our popular double pull-out trash cabinet. On the opposite side, a 36” slide-in range with stainless steel hood gives the kitchen a professional touch. Custom cabinetry was tailored around the room’s original low windows to keep the home’s charm intact.
The design features our Savannah door style in Crystal White with a Pewter glaze, paired with pewter antique cup pulls and knobs. A porcelain farmhouse sink and Kohler faucet reinforce the farmhouse aesthetic, while the well-placed pantry and refrigerator area add functionality and serve as a charming coffee bar. Fantasy Brown granite countertops tie everything together, complementing the cabinetry and the refinished hardwood floors.
This modern farmhouse kitchen is the perfect balance of style, function, and history.
